Vivo announces global launch of OriginOS 7

Vivo has announced the global launch of OriginOS 7, its latest custom operating system skin built on Android 17. The software is scheduled for a global release on September 21, with a preview program currently available for select flagship devices.

OriginOS 7 introduces the Origin Smooth Engine, which features an architectural redesign for graphics computation, memory management, and system scheduling. According to Vivo, the update offers a 10% faster app cold start time and an 11% faster app page switching rate compared to the previous version. The system also includes Memory Fusion technology, which aims to improve memory reclamation efficiency.

User interface enhancements include Fluid Motion, which utilizes liquid-inspired dynamics for interface transitions, and the Origin Island feature. The update also expands cross-device compatibility, allowing users to sync health data with Apple Watches and access iCloud files through the Vivo File Manager.
