Vivo launches OriginOS 7 with Apple ecosystem integration
Vivo has officially introduced OriginOS 7 globally, featuring enhanced performance and expanded cross-device connectivity. A notable update in this version is the improved integration with the Apple ecosystem. Users with compatible Vivo devices can access iCloud photos and files directly through the native File Manager after logging in with an Apple ID.
Furthermore, OriginOS 7 allows for connectivity with Apple Watch models (specifically Series 6, SE 2nd Gen, or newer running watchOS 9 or higher). This enables Vivo smartphones to display Apple Watch notifications, such as calls and SMS, and sync certain health and fitness data to Origin Health. This feature is expected to be available on the Vivo X200 series, newer X series models, and the iQOO 13.
Technically, the new operating system introduces the Origin Smooth Engine to improve graphics computation and memory management. Vivo reports that the system reduces app cold start times by 10% and improves page switching by 11%. The update also includes Memory Fusion for better storage reclamation and the Origin Workbench for advanced multitasking.
