Vivo launches S2 smartphone with curved AMOLED screen, 7,050 mAh battery

Vivo has revived its S series with the launch of the Vivo S2 smartphone, the first new model since the Vivo S1 in 2019. The device features a 6.83‑inch curved AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, 1.5K resolution and a peak brightness of 3,000 nit. It is powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 7360‑Turbo 4 nm chipset, paired with 8 GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256 GB UFS 3.1 storage, and supports virtual RAM expansion up to an additional 8 GB.

The S2 is equipped with a 50 MP Sony IMX852 main camera, a 2 MP depth sensor, and a 32 MP front‑facing camera, both capable of 4K video recording. A 7,050 mAh battery offers 44 W fast charging and a bypass‑charging mode to reduce heat during simultaneous use and charging. The phone meets IP68/IP69 dust‑and‑water resistance, MIL‑STD‑810H military durability standards, and runs OriginOS 6 based on Android 16. Pricing starts at about $420 in Turkey, while in India it is sold for 39,999 rupee (≈7.5 million IDR) for the 8 GB/128 GB variant and 44,999 rupee for the 8 GB/256 GB model. The S2 is available in Sapphire Blue, Regal Bronze and Silk White.
