Vivo V80 smartphone expected to launch in October with 7,200mAh battery

Vivo is preparing to launch the V80 smartphone, likely in India during the first week of October. The device has already cleared regulatory certifications in India (BIS), Thailand (NBTC), Malaysia (SIRIM), and Indonesia (SDPPI).

Key rumored specifications include a massive 7,200mAh battery, which would be the largest in the V-series to date, and support for 90W wired fast charging. The device is expected to feature a Zeiss-branded camera system, including a 50MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and 10x portrait zoom, alongside 4K cinematic video capabilities.

On the software front, the V80 is anticipated to be among the first to run OriginOS 7 based on Android 17. The handset is expected to target content creators with AI-driven features such as an ‘AI Creative Camera’ offering over 30 effects and a ‘Live Sticker Collage’ tool.
