India's August 2026 smartphone launch week sees multiple new models

Xiaomi is set to launch the Redmi Note 17 5G in India on August 6, 2026, highlighting an 8,000 mAh battery and a rapid China‑to‑India rollout that shortens the usual months‑long gap. Poco will follow with the M8 Power on August 4, also featuring an 8,000 mAh battery and a 120 Hz AMOLED display. Samsung’s Galaxy F70 Pro 5G is scheduled for August 3, priced between ₹25,999 and ₹34,999, equipped with a 6,000 mAh battery, 45 W fast charging and a six‑year Android‑update promise. Vivo will re‑enter the Indian market with the S2 on August 6, expected to cost around ₹51,999–₹55,999, offering a 7,050 mAh battery, 44 W charging, a 6.83‑inch curved OLED display and IP68/69 protection. Google plans a global launch of the Pixel 11 series, including India, on August 12. The clustered releases create a busy launch week, with Xiaomi’s two devices – the Redmi Note 17 and Poco M8 Power – arriving only two days apart, prompting speculation that they may be re‑branded versions of the same hardware.
