Vivo S2 smartphone set for India launch on August 6
A new Vivo S2 smartphone is slated to launch in India on August 6, with the first sales scheduled for August 11, according to a promotional poster shared by tipster Abhishek Yadav on X. The device is rumored to come in three colours—Sapphire Blue, Regal Bronze and Silk White—and in 8 GB + 128 GB or 8 GB + 256 GB configurations. Expected price points range from roughly ₹38,000 to ₹43,000.
Reported specifications include a 6.59‑inch 1.5K OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, a large 7,000 mAh battery supporting 80 W wired fast charging, and a triple‑camera system featuring a 50 MP primary sensor, a 50 MP periscope telephoto lens and an 8 MP ultra‑wide lens, plus a 32 MP front camera. The handset may be powered by either Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset or MediaTek’s Dimensity 7360, and it will include an in‑display fingerprint sensor.
The leak follows earlier reports that the S series has been absent from the Indian market since the original Vivo S1 launched in 2019, and it marks the brand’s anticipated return to the segment.
