vivo to unveil OriginOS 7 and BlueOS 4 at September developer conference

vivo has announced the upcoming launch of OriginOS 7, based on Android 17, scheduled for unveiling at the vivo Developer Conference on September 16, 2026. The new operating system introduces a “liquid glass” visual interface featuring translucent materials, light refraction, and enhanced dynamic effects.

Key performance upgrades include the “Blue River Smooth Engine,” which aims to improve page switching speeds by 19%, app launch speeds by 12%, and graphic rendering efficiency by 14%. The system also introduces “Storage Compression 2.0,” which can potentially free up approximately 20GB of space on 256GB devices. Additionally, a new “Atomic Workbench” feature will support multitasking on vertical smartphones.

Internal beta registration has opened in China for 14 eligible vivo and iQOO devices, including the X300 series and iQOO 15 series. The beta program is limited to 3,000 testers per device. Alongside OriginOS 7, vivo plans to introduce BlueOS 4, a self-developed operating system targeting wearables, smart home products, and IoT ecosystems.
