Vladimir Prebilic Visits Turkey, Criticizes Security Policies and Observes Major Corruption Trial

Slovenian politician Vladimir Prebilic travelled to Ankara and met Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu, where he criticised Turkey’s anti‑terror approach. Soylu responded firmly, saying European observers do not fully understand the threats Turkey faces. Prebilic was taken to the Security and Emergency Coordination Center (GAMER), which he described as larger than the White House Situation Room.

Later, Prebilic attended the Silivri hearing of the Istanbul 40th Heavy Penal Court, observing the trial of the “Ekrem İmamoğlu Organized Crime” case. He publicly called for sanctions against Turkish Justice Minister Akın Gürlek, prompting Gürlek to defend Turkey’s legal system and sovereignty. The reports also note Prebilic’s own history of corruption allegations in Slovenia.
