Vladimir Yanok murder linked to crypto wallet theft

Bulgarian businessman Vladimir Yanok, known as Vlado Zagato, was killed in a pre‑planned attack in Bankya, Bulgaria. Criminologist Ivan Savov said the crime showed clear preparation and involved more than one perpetrator, suggesting the attackers knew exactly what they wanted. Cyber‑security expert Lyubomir Tulev explained that accessing Yanok’s cryptocurrency would require his PIN, seed phrase or other credentials, which could only be obtained by physically confronting him. Both experts indicated that the murder may have been motivated by an attempt to extract this information, possibly through torture, to steal his crypto assets stored in hardware wallets, software wallets or exchanges.
