Vocational orientation workshops support student career planning in Peru and Argentina

Educational institutions and government programs in Peru and Argentina are implementing vocational orientation workshops to assist students in career planning and life project construction.

In Arequipa, Peru, the Juntos program of the Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion (Midis) conducted workshops for students at the Colegio Nacional Micaela Bastidas. Led by psychologists, the sessions used interactive methodologies such as “Myths of the Professions” and “Career Traffic Light” to help adolescents identify their skills, interests, and professional options while overcoming preconceived notions about various careers.

In Fernández Oro, Argentina, a psychopedagogical study analyzed the impact of a three-month vocational orientation workshop for fifth-year students at ESRN N° 14. The qualitative research demonstrated that such interventions promote significant progress in personal interest identification, recognition of socio-familial factors, and the strengthening of autonomy in decision-making regarding educational continuity and labor insertion.
