Vocational orientation initiatives in schools

Educational programs in Peru, Argentina, and Austria are implementing various strategies to assist students with career planning and vocational guidance.

In Peru and Argentina, efforts have focused on psychological and psychopedagogical support. In Arequipa, Peru, the Juntos program utilized interactive methodologies like “Myths of the Professions” to help adolescents identify skills and professional options. Similarly, research in Fernández Oro, Argentina, highlighted how three-month workshops helped students recognize socio-familial factors and strengthen autonomy in decision-making regarding labor insertion.

In Austria, initiatives have emphasized direct engagement with the professional sector. In Vienna, the “Meet Your Future” event facilitated career speed-dating between ninth-grade students and approximately 60 companies and training institutions. Additionally, in Tyrol, schools were recognized through the “Berufsorientierung Plus” seal of quality, which includes prizes for innovative methods such as using puppet theater to introduce primary school children to nursing professions.
