Vodafone leads new Italian mobile network quality rankings

A new Altroconsumo ranking of Italian mobile network quality, based on data from the CheBanda app collected between July 2025 and June 2026, shows significant shifts in the market. Vodafone maintains its first-place position with 89,355 points, followed by Fastweb in second.

The most notable change is WindTre overtaking Tim to claim third place. This rise is largely attributed to the increased impact of 5G technology on overall scores. WindTre recorded the highest proportion of 5G tests among all operators, with 52% of its user tests occurring on the fifth-generation network.

The rankings are determined by user-reported metrics including download and upload speeds, video playback quality, and website loading times. Iliad finished the ranking in fifth place, trailing the rest of the group.
