Vodafone Paredes de Coura festival celebrates 32 years of music and reading
The 32nd edition of the Vodafone Paredes de Coura music festival is currently taking place at the Taboão River Beach. Artistic director João Carvalho highlights the festival’s unique atmosphere, noting a crowd that remains attentive to live performances rather than being distracted by mobile phones.
This year, the festival has introduced new features to enhance the experience, including a partnership with the online bookstore Wook. This initiative provides a mobile library where attendees can borrow books for free, exchange previously read titles, or purchase books at a discount. Popular genres among festival-goers include spiritual growth and literary classics.
The event continues to attract an international audience, with growing interest from countries such as England, Ireland, Belgium, and Brazil. To reflect this global connection, the festival lineup includes Brazilian alternative artists Terraplana and Julia Mestre.
