Paredes de Coura music festival concludes

Overview

The 32nd edition of the Paredes de Coura music festival at Taboão river beach featured a diverse lineup including M.I.A., Bloc Party, and Underworld. To prepare for the event, Vodafone Portugal implemented technical reinforcements, including a temporary mobile station for 5G coverage and 60 kilometers of fiber optic cable.

During the event, a partnership with the bookstore Wook provided a mobile library for borrowing, exchanging, or purchasing books, with attendees showing interest in literary classics and spiritual growth. Artistic director João Carvalho noted a unique atmosphere where the crowd remained attentive to live performances. The festival drew an international audience, including visitors from England, Ireland, Belgium, and Brazil, with the lineup featuring Brazilian artists such as Terraplana and Julia Mestre.

The festival has now concluded, having drawn an estimated 115,000 attendees to the Couraíso area and Taboão river beach. The final day included performances by Thundercat and the Australian punk rock band Amyl and The Sniffers, who closed the main stage, alongside sets by Patrick Watson, Cate Le Bon, and Meute. The third day featured the musical project Noko Woi with vocals by Salvador Sobral. João Carvalho has announced that the 2027 edition is scheduled for August 18 to 21.
