Volaris direct route between Puebla and Los Cabos sees high passenger volume

The direct air route between Puebla and Los Cabos, operated by Volaris, has seen significant early success, transporting approximately 10,900 passengers during June and July 2026. The service, which launched on June 1, 2026, operates four times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

Rodrigo Esponda, Director General of the Los Cabos Tourism Trust (FITURCA), noted that Puebla is emerging as a key domestic market for the destination. Data shows a sharp increase in visitors from the Hermanos Serdán airport in Puebla, rising from just over 520 visitors in 2024 and 1,400 in 2025 to nearly 11,000 in the first two months of the new direct service.

The route provides 744 seats per week using aircraft with a 186-passenger capacity, offering a non-stop flight duration of approximately two hours. This expansion is part of a broader trend in Los Cabos, which has increased its national routes from eight to 17 in less than a decade, with domestic seat availability growing by 42% over the last five years.
