Volkswagen Amarok updates: SAIC technology and Walkinshaw tuning
Volkswagen is preparing for a significant shift in its Amarok pickup truck lineup. A new generation of the Amarok is slated for a 2027 release, specifically targeting the South American market. In Australia, the brand is highlighting the Amarok W600, a high-performance version developed by the Victorian-based firm Walkinshaw. Unlike the original in-house Amarok, the W600 is built on the Ford Ranger platform. The tuning focuses on on-road handling through an overhauled suspension system featuring Koni Frequency Selective Dampers, a new rear sway bar, and 20-inch alloy wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV tyres. The W600 also includes aesthetic updates such as a unique light bar, new exterior badging, and twin side-exit exhausts.
