Audi de México also saw a 4.7% increase in production during the same period. In San Luis Potosí, BMW production grew from 133,954 units in 2019 to 449,442 units, while monthly exports increased by 69.7% compared to previous administrative periods.

The heavy vehicle segment experienced a sharp rebound in August 2026, with production increasing by 100.2% and exports rising by 116.7% year-over-year. While wholesale sales for heavy vehicles grew by 19%, retail sales saw a decline of 4.8%. The majority of heavy vehicle exports are destined for the United States, followed by Canada and Colombia.

In Puebla, Volkswagen de México has scheduled staggered work stoppages on September 11 to allow over 6,000 workers affiliated with the SITIAVW union to vote on the 2026 contractual agreement. The proposed agreement includes a 10.04% global increase in wages and benefits. Meanwhile, Guanajuato continues to strengthen its automotive cluster through the 13th Automotive Supplier Forum, aiming to facilitate international trade and supply chain integration.
