Volkswagen expands electric SUV lineup with ID. Cross and ID. Tiguan

Volkswagen is expanding its electric vehicle portfolio with the introduction of two new SUV models: the ID. Cross and the ID. Tiguan. These models are designed to cover highly sought-after market segments, offering a mix of compact versatility and spacious family utility.

The ID. Cross is a compact SUV built on the MEB+ platform, designed for urban environments and daily commuting. It features battery options of 37 kWh and 52 kWh, providing a WLTP range of up to 427 km depending on the configuration. A more affordable entry-level version with a 37 kWh battery offers a range of up to 324 km and is priced from approximately 20,500 euros in certain markets.

The ID. Tiguan serves as a successor to the ID. 4 and ID. 5, utilizing the MEB+ platform to offer increased dimensions and technology. It is available with three powertrain options: a 140 kW (190 hp) rear-wheel-drive version with a 58 kWh battery, a 210 kW (286 hp) rear-wheel-drive version with a 77 kWh battery, and a 220 kW (299 hp) 4MOTION all-wheel-drive version. The high-end configuration offers a WLTP range of up to 605 km.

Pre-sales and configurations have begun in several European markets, including Croatia, the Czech Republic, and Spain, with various models expected to reach customers throughout 2025 and 2027.
