Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus unveils new Meteor Ultra and Constellation models

Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus (VWCO) has announced several new vehicle models, including the Meteor Ultra series and the Constellation 33. 540 6×4.

The Meteor Ultra line, which includes the 28. 500 6×2, 28. 540 6×2, and 29. 540 6×4 versions, features the new D26 Ultra engine. These models deliver up to 540 cv and 2,650 Nm of torque, offering a fuel consumption reduction of up to 5% compared to previous generations. The development involved over three million kilometers of testing across various Latin American topographies and altitudes up to 4,800 meters.

Additionally, the Constellation 33. 540 6×4 has been designed for heavy-duty off-road use, specifically targeting the agribusiness sector. This model features a Gross Combined Weight of 91 tons and a standard Maximum Traction Capacity of 125 tons, with special configurations capable of reaching 150 tons. To handle severe terrain, the vehicle includes a reinforced chassis, redesigned radiator protection, and an elevated suspension system.

VWCO is also expanding into the utility vehicle segment through a partnership with SAIC Motor and is advancing energy transition efforts with the e-Delivery electric models and the Constellation Biomethane.
