Renault Scenic E-Tech receives battery and AI updates
Renault has announced significant technical and technological updates for the Scenic E-Tech electric crossover, three years after its initial debut. The updates focus on battery performance, charging speeds, and advanced software integration rather than major aesthetic changes.
The model now offers two distinct battery architectures. The Long Range version features an upgraded 89 kWh NMC battery, providing a WLTP range of up to 642 km and a 15% to 80% DC charge time of 28 minutes. A new, more affordable Comfort Range version will introduce a 67 kWh LFP battery, offering up to 467 km of WLTP range and a faster 24-minute charge time from 15% to 80% at 165 kW.
Technological enhancements include the integration of Google Gemini AI into the openR link infotainment system, providing a more advanced alternative to Google Assistant. The vehicle also receives improved driver assistance systems (ADAS), such as enhanced lane positioning and driver fatigue monitoring. Interior updates emphasize sustainability, utilizing higher percentages of recycled PET fabrics and new trim options, alongside hardware improvements like a ventilated wireless charging pad.
