Volkswagen Group updates vehicle lineup with electric shifts and new models
The Volkswagen Group continues to evolve its vehicle lineup through brand-specific strategies and model transitions. The VW Polo, a model with over 20 million sales over 50 years, is transitioning from internal combustion engines to a fully electric future under the name ID. Polo.
Skoda, a VW subsidiary, is expanding its electric portfolio. Following the launch of the Epiq entry-level model, the brand is introducing the Peaq, a seven-seater electric vehicle priced at 49,900 euros. The Peaq utilizes the Volkswagen Group’s MEB modular electric toolkit to compete in the premium segment.
In the SUV market, the VW Tayron is seeing significant depreciation in the used car market. One-year-old models have seen price drops of approximately 40 percent, falling from an original price of 55,414 euros to roughly 32,989 euros. The Tayron is positioned as a versatile family vehicle, offering both five-seat and seven-seat configurations with various engine options, including eTSI, TDI, and plug-in hybrids.
