Volkswagen launches ID. Cross compact electric SUV in Europe

Volkswagen unveiled the ID. Cross, a compact five‑seat electric SUV, at a world premiere on 15 July 2026. Built on the MEB+ platform shared with the ID. Polo, the model measures 4.153 m long, 1.974 m (or 1.794 m in some markets) wide, 1.581 m high and has a 2.600 m wheelbase. Cargo capacity is 475 L plus a 25 L front trunk.

Three powertrain options are offered: 116 hp, 135 hp and 211 hp, paired with a 37 kWh battery (WLTP range 316‑334 km) or a 52 kWh battery (WLTP range 426‑436 km). Fast DC charging delivers 90‑105 kW, reaching 80 % state of charge in roughly 24 minutes. Prices start at €27 995 for the entry‑level trim and rise to €36 525 for higher‑spec models. Standard equipment includes a 10.25‑inch digital cockpit, 12.9‑inch infotainment screen, Connected Travel Assist, One‑Pedal driving, optional IQ LIGHT matrix headlights and a Harman Kardon audio system. The vehicle is available for pre‑order in Germany and listed in other European markets, with local pricing reported in Japan (≈¥5.2 million) and Poland (≈158 000 zł).
