Volkswagen ID. Polo electric hatchback launches in Europe with prices from €24,990

Volkswagen has introduced the ID. Polo, an entry‑level electric city car, in the European market. In Greece the base Trend trim is offered at €24,990 before the national "Kínoumai Ilektriká" subsidy, which can lower the price to about €21,990. The model is powered by a 116 PS (85 kW) front‑motor and a 37 kWh LFP battery that delivers a WLTP range of 304–334 km. Fast DC charging at up to 90 kW raises the state of charge from 10 % to 80 % in roughly 23 minutes.

Standard equipment includes automatic climate control, 12.9‑inch infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, LED lighting, adaptive cruise control, and a suite of driver‑assist features such as emergency steering assist and pedestrian monitoring. The vehicle’s consumption is rated at 13.3–14.9 kWh per 100 km, resulting in zero tailpipe CO₂ emissions.

A cost analysis shows that, when lease terms, energy costs and subsidies are taken into account, the ID. Polo can be up to €126 per month cheaper than a comparable gasoline‑engine Polo, amounting to roughly €4,650 in savings over a typical 37‑month contract. The model has already attracted strong demand, with more than 25,000 pre‑orders recorded after its official pre‑order launch in Germany.
