Volkswagen ID. Polo wins German Car of the Year budget award

Volkswagen’s new all-electric ID. Polo has won the budget category in the German Car of the Year awards. This marks the first award for the small electric supermini, which competes in the bracket for new model ranges with starting prices below €25,000.

The ID. Polo has advanced to the final round of judging, where it will compete against the Kia PV5, Mercedes-Benz GLC, Xpeng X9, and Hyundai Ioniq 6 N for the overall German Car of the Year title. The final winner is scheduled to be announced on November 3.

In addition to the budget award, the jury recognized other winners across various segments: the Kia PV5 in the Compact category, the Mercedes-Benz GLC in the Premium category, the Xpeng X9 in the Luxury category, and the Hyundai Ioniq 6 N as the Performance Car winner. The Geely E2 received the value award for being the best-value car across all classes.
