Volkswagen launches ID. Polo entry‑level EV at €17,900

Volkswagen has introduced a new entry‑level version of its ID. Polo electric hatchback across Europe. The base “Match” trim is priced from €17,900 (including incentives) and is equipped with a 37 kWh lithium‑iron‑phosphate (LFP) battery. The 85 kW (116 hp) motor delivers a WLTP‑rated range of about 318‑326 km, and fast DC charging up to 90 kW can recharge the battery from 10 % to 80 % in roughly 23 minutes.

Standard equipment includes a 10.25‑inch Digital Cockpit and a 12.9‑inch infotainment screen, LED headlights, 17‑inch steel wheels, adaptive cruise control, lane‑keeping assist and other ADAS features. The launch has attracted strong demand, with more than 70 000 pre‑orders reported and about 25 000 early orders recorded within weeks of the announcement. The model is now available for order in Italy, Spain and other European markets, while the cheapest variant’s delivery is delayed in Denmark.

Higher‑trim Life and Style versions share the same battery option but offer 116 hp or 135 hp outputs and slightly higher ranges. Volkswagen positions the ID. Polo as the most affordable urban EV in its portfolio, aiming to expand electric‑vehicle adoption in the compact segment.
