Volkswagen launches electric ID. Polo GTI

Volkswagen has launched the ID. Polo GTI, an electric hot hatch designed to balance performance and style. The vehicle features a 52 kWh battery and produces 226 hp, an increase from the 211 hp found in previous iterations. To enhance driving dynamics, the model includes a limited-slip differential, modified suspension, and adjusted steering electronics.

In terms of performance, the ID. Polo GTI achieves 0 to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds. While it trails competitors like the Mini JCW and Stellantis group models (Peugeot E-208 GTI, Opel Corsa GSE, and Lancia Ypsilon HF) in raw power and acceleration, it offers a leading WLTP range of 431 km. Charging from 10% to 80% takes approximately 24 minutes via DC fast charging.

Pricing varies by region. In Germany, the starting price is 39,995 euro. In France, the vehicle is priced at 41,450 euro, positioning it competitively against the Peugeot E-208 GTI and Lancia Ypsilon HF, though it remains more expensive than the Opel Corsa GSE. Polish pricing is expected to follow a similar premium trend.
