Volkswagen launches electric ID. Polo with strong early demand
Volkswagen has launched the all-electric ID. Polo, marking a strategic shift back toward the brand's traditional design and ergonomic fundamentals. Unlike previous ID. models that departed from established brand codes, the ID. Polo utilizes the ‘Pure Positive’ design language and focuses on intuitive interfaces and practical usability.
The vehicle has seen strong initial demand, with over 30,000 orders recorded by early September, including more than 10,000 in France alone. Starting at a price below €25,000, the model offers improved interior space and a 25 percent increase in trunk capacity compared to its combustion engine predecessor.
Technical specifications include three motor power levels: 85 kW, 99 kW, and 155 kW. Entry-level versions feature a 37 kWh LFP battery providing up to 329 km of range, while the high-performance variant uses a 52 kWh NMC battery offering up to 454 km. Both battery types support DC fast charging from 10 to 80 percent in approximately 23 to 24 minutes.
