Volkswagen’s low‑cost electric ID. Polo family reaches 70,000 pre‑orders
Volkswagen reports that more than 70,000 pre‑orders have been placed for its low‑cost Electric Urban Car Family – the ID. Polo, Škoda Epiq and Cupra Raval – within three months of launch. The ID. Polo alone accounts for about 25,000 orders, with the remaining demand split between the Škoda and Cupra models.
All four models share front‑wheel drive, power outputs between 84 kW and 163 kW and fast‑charging capability of up to 90 kW (LFP battery) or 105 kW (NMC battery). They are offered with a 37 kWh LFP battery delivering roughly 315 km WLTP range, or a 52 kWh NMC battery delivering up to about 441 km. V2L (vehicle‑to‑load) technology can supply up to 3.6 kW to external devices.
Prices start at about €27,995 (including VAT) – roughly $30,000 – with the Czech pre‑sale priced from 691 000 CZK and UK orders opening on 30 July 2026. The fourth model, the ID. Cross crossover, is slated for European launch later in the year, expected to raise total order numbers further.
