Volkswagen ID. Polo sees massive demand with 30,000 orders

Volkswagen is experiencing significant demand for its new ID. Polo electric vehicle, with over 30,000 orders recorded across Europe. This surge in interest has led to the model being effectively sold out across its entire range, resulting in waiting lists of up to 10 months for certain configurations.

The ID. Polo is a central component of Volkswagen’s strategy to offer more affordable electric vehicles to compete with manufacturers like BYD. The entry-level Trend model, featuring a 37 kWh battery, starts at approximately €24,995 in markets like Germany and Belgium. Higher trims, such as the Style version, offer larger 52 kWh batteries and increased range.

In addition to the ID. Polo's commercial success, Volkswagen is also updating its IQ. DRIVE driver-assistance suite for the 2027 model year. These technological enhancements include improved lane-change assistance, Emergency Assist Plus—which can steer an unresponsive vehicle toward the shoulder—and updated predictive adaptive cruise control for models including the Atlas, Golf, Tiguan, and ID. Buzz.
