Volkswagen prepares new utility vehicle for Argentina

Volkswagen Camiones y Buses is preparing to enter a new commercial vehicle segment in Argentina with a utility model developed in partnership with the Chinese manufacturer SAIC Motor.

The project is part of a long-standing alliance between Volkswagen and SAIC. Initially, the new high-roof van models will be imported from China to the Argentine market. However, the company is also evaluating the possibility of future regional production to supply South American markets.

Engineering and quality testing are currently underway in Brazil near the Resende industrial complex. The official presentation of the new utility vehicle is expected to take place in September 2026 during Fenatran, a major commercial vehicle exhibition in Brazil.
