Volkswagen Puebla workers to vote on salary increase

The Independent Union of Automotive Industry Workers of Volkswagen (Sitiavw) has announced the logistics for the 2026 salary and contractual review consultation. The vote is scheduled for October 15 at the Volkswagen plant in Cuautlancingo, specifically in Nave 25, between 04:30 and 18:00 hours.

To ensure worker participation, the union will implement staggered work stoppages across all three shifts. The third shift will pause from 04:30 to 06:00, the first shift from 06:00 to 08:00, and the second shift from 15:00 to 16:30. Workers must present their plant credentials to vote, and those on medical leave may cast their ballots at Gate 3.

The consultation involves a proposal for a global increase of 13.16% in salaries and benefits, contingent upon signing the 2027 wage adjustment early. To facilitate movement within the factory, a carousel-style transport service will be provided to move operators from their work areas to the voting site.
