Volkswagen rolls out ID. Polo base model priced under €25,000

Volkswagen will launch the base‑level "Trend" version of its ID. Polo electric compact car in the German market from mid‑July 2026. The entry model is priced at €24,995 and is equipped with a smaller 37 kWh LFP battery delivering about 300 km of range, 99 kW power output and a maximum 90 kW charging rate. Standard equipment includes climatronic climate control, dual 60 W USB‑C ports, a digital cockpit and a 12.9‑inch infotainment screen, as well as side‑assist and LED headlights.

Volkswagen hopes the low‑price offering will broaden its mass‑market appeal, counter competition from Chinese brands in the European B‑segment, and help meet EU emissions targets. If customers qualify for the up‑to‑€3,000 purchase incentive, the out‑of‑pocket cost could fall below €20,000. The move is seen as crucial for the German automaker to boost volume in the second half of 2026 and avoid penalties in the European Union.
