Volkswagen updates Tera crossover with more power for 2027

Volkswagen is updating its Tera compact crossover for the 2027 model year, introducing significant mechanical upgrades to compete with rivals like the Jeep Avenger. The Comfort and High versions will transition from the 170 TSI engine to the more powerful 200 TSI, delivering up to 128 cv with ethanol and 20.4 kgfm of torque. Additionally, the previous six-speed automatic transmission will be replaced by an eight-speed unit shared with the T-Cross.

In anticipation of these updates, Volkswagen is offering discounts of up to R$ 20,000 on remaining 2026 model year units in Brazil. These promotions apply to various trims, including the High version, which has seen price reductions in certain dealerships. The new 2027 line is expected to arrive at dealerships in October.

Separately, Volkswagen is using the Rock in Rio festival to showcase the Tukan, a new pickup model scheduled for a first-half 2027 launch in the Brazilian market. The Tukan is being featured through interactive AI-driven experiences at the brand's festival stand.
