Volkswagen Trucks sells 56 biometane Constellation units to Brazil's Loga

Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus (VWCO) completed its first commercial‑scale sale of biometane‑powered heavy trucks, delivering 56 Constellation 26.280 vehicles to Loga, a major waste‑collection firm operating in São Paulo. The trucks, built for urban waste‑collection routes, run on an Otto‑cycle engine with automatic transmission, offer up to 300 km of range and store 240 m³ (960 L) of gas in steel‑carbon tanks. VWCO says they can cut CO₂ emissions by as much as 90 % versus comparable diesel trucks and generate far less noise, while each unit avoids annual emissions equivalent to burning about 35 000 L of diesel. The deal marks a significant step for Brazil’s heavy‑transport sector toward renewable fuels and circular‑economy solutions.
