Volkswagen unveils all-electric ID. Tiguan SUV

Volkswagen has unveiled the ID. Tiguan, an all-electric SUV designed to replace the ID. 4 and ID. 5 models. Built on the upgraded MEB+ platform, the new vehicle is expected to enter the European market in early 2027. The ID. Tiguan will be sold alongside the existing internal combustion and hybrid Tiguan models.

The electric SUV offers three powertrain configurations: a 190 hp rear-wheel-drive version with a 58 kWh battery, a 286 hp rear-wheel-drive version with a 77 kWh battery, and a 299 hp 4MOTION all-wheel-drive version also utilizing a 77 kWh battery. Depending on the configuration, the vehicle claims a WLTP driving range of up to 600 km and a maximum towing capacity of up to 2,000 kg.

Key interior updates include a return to physical buttons for essential controls, a 15-inch central infotainment screen, a 10-inch digital cockpit, and an optional 12-inch passenger display. The design shifts from the previous crossover style to a more defined SUV silhouette. Pre-sales are scheduled to begin in mid-October 2026 in several European markets, including Germany and Austria.
