Volkswagen unveils ID. 3 GTI as most powerful GTI ever

Volkswagen has officially unveiled the ID. 3 GTI, claiming it as the most powerful GTI ever produced. The electric model features a rear-mounted motor delivering 326 hp (240 kW) and 545 Nm of torque, surpassing the Golf GTI Edition 50 by a single horsepower.

Despite the power record, the ID. 3 GTI is not the fastest in terms of acceleration or top speed. It completes the 0-100 km/h sprint in 5.6 seconds, slightly slower than the Golf GTI Edition 50's 5.3 seconds. Additionally, the ID. 3 GTI is electronically limited to a top speed of 200 km/h, whereas the Golf reaches 270 km/h.

The vehicle is equipped with a 79 kWh battery providing an estimated WLTP range of 601 kilometers. Performance enhancements include adaptive DCC dampers, a dedicated GTI driving mode, launch control, and a specialized sport chassis. The driving experience is further augmented by artificial engine sounds delivered through the vehicle's speakers.
