Volkswagen unveils long-wheelbase ID. Buzz Cargo electric van

Volkswagen has unveiled a long-wheelbase (LWB) version of its electric ID. Buzz Cargo van. The new variant is approximately 25 to 30 cm longer than the standard short-wheelbase (SWB) model, increasing the load length to 2.45 meters and the total cargo volume to 4.4 cubic meters, up from 3.9 cubic meters.

Technical upgrades for the LWB model include a larger 86 kWh battery pack, compared to the 79 kWh battery in the SWB version. While official WLTP range figures are pending, the range is expected to be just below 500 km (approximately 300 miles). The LWB version will also offer a new 4Motion all-wheel-drive option delivering up to 250 kW (340 hp), an increase over the standard model's 210 kW.

Despite the increased space, the maximum payload is expected to decrease from 750 kg to approximately 690–697 kg. The vehicle will feature technological updates such as the Innovision infotainment system, Connected Travel Assist, and a new steering wheel design with physical buttons. The LWB ID. Buzz Cargo is slated for launch in Belgium later this year and will be featured at the Brussels Motor Show in January 2027.
