Volotea cancels 10 flights amid pilot strike in France

Volotea has announced the cancellation of 10 flights due to a three-day pilot strike in France. The disruptions include four cancellations on the first day, with six additional flights scheduled for cancellation on Saturday. Affected routes include connections to Biarritz, Toulouse, Perpignan, Bordeaux, and Figari from the Lille base, as well as flights to Calvi (Corsica) from the Strasbourg center.

The strike, which spans the weekend of September 4 to 6, 2026, was organized by the French National Union of Line Pilots (SNPL), the Civil Aviation Navigators Union (UNAC), and the SPL. Pilots are protesting against stagnant wages and working conditions, which the SNPL claims are among the “worst” in the market. The union noted that while management reportedly granted average salary increases of 23% in 2025, pilots have seen wage stagnation dating back to 2012.

Volotea stated it is proactively contacting affected passengers to allow for flight modifications without additional costs. To mitigate the impact, the airline may use crews from Barcelona to ensure some flight continuity.
