Volta Redonda hosts first Sketch Festival for Teatro em Volta project

The city of Volta Redonda will host the first edition of the Sketch Festival this Saturday, November 7, 2026, at the Maestro Franklin Carvalho Junior Theater. The event marks the conclusion of the first season of the Teatro em Volta project, an initiative created by the Municipal Secretariat of Culture.

The festival features short plays performed by students from various institutions, including the Day Care Center for People with Disabilities (CAPD), Academia da Vida, the Association of Parents and Friends of Exceptional People (Apae-VR), and students from Colégio João Botelho de Athayde.

Since its launch in April 2026, the project has provided weekly theater classes to promote social inclusion and transformation, specifically targeting youth and people with disabilities. The event is a collaborative effort between the municipal secretariats of Culture and Social Assistance, and the Volta Redonda Educational Foundation (Fevre). Admission is free.
