Volunteer firefighters complete performance badge examinations

Volunteer fire departments in Austria and Germany have successfully completed various performance badge examinations.

In Wolfsberg, over 530 youth members from the BFV Leibnitz district participated in knowledge tests and practical drills to earn performance badges. The 18 youth members of the Lebring – St. Margarethen fire department achieved various levels of certification, including gold, silver, and bronze badges, following intensive preparation.

In Eggstätt, Germany, 17 active members completed the ‘Water Performance Badge’ examination. The assessment tested theoretical knowledge and practical skills, including knot-tying, setting up external water attacks from hydrants, and establishing suction lines from water sources under strict time limits. The training aimed to deepen knowledge of service regulations and ensure the safe handling of equipment.
