Crotone launches citywide extraordinary cleaning operation
The municipality of Crotone began an overnight extraordinary cleaning plan aimed at improving the appearance of public spaces and strengthening urban hygiene services across the entire city. The initiative follows a recent assessment by Environment Councilor Mario Megna, which identified a need to increase staff and equipment. Dedicated cleaning crews started sweeping, washing and debris removal on several streets, assisted by volunteer associations. The operation was inaugurated in the presence of Mayor Voce, Councilor Megna, Akrea president Alberto Padula and councilor Giuseppe Castagnino.
Mayor Voce emphasized that the effort marks the start of a broader programme to restore order, cleanliness and civic pride, while urging residents to cooperate in proper waste disposal. Councilor Megna added that the actions stem from a thorough territorial verification and will be sustained with reinforced personnel and vehicles. Volunteers continue to support the crews, reinforcing the city’s commitment to higher service standards.
