Volunteers conduct waste cleanup operations in Padova and Sassari

Community volunteers in Italy have conducted separate environmental cleanup operations in Padova and Sassari to address illegal waste dumping.

In Padova, volunteers from various groups, including the Scientology Volunteer Ministers and members of the local Muslim, Bangladeshi, and Pakistani communities, removed approximately 50 kilograms of waste near the Borgomagno station overpass. The collected items included glass bottles, cans, plastic packaging, clothing, and bulky items such as electrical cables and a fan.

In Sassari, an initiative led by the Plastic Free organization and the Cappuccini neighborhood committee resulted in the removal of 750 kilograms of waste from the former Colonia campestre area. The cleanup involved 50 volunteers who collected thirty bags of unsorted waste, tires, car batteries, wooden furniture, and various metal materials.
