Volvo adds Apple Music to over 2 million cars via OTA update

Volvo Cars announced that an over‑the‑air software update will embed Apple Music directly into the infotainment systems of more than two million Volvo vehicles worldwide. The update applies to models from the 2020 model year onward, including the new EX60, EX90 and ES90, as well as XC90, S90, V90, XC60, S60, V60, XC40, EX40 and EC40.

Eligible users – new Apple Music subscribers or returning users without an active subscription – can receive up to three months of free Apple Music service when they activate the offer through the Volvo Cars app by 6 July 2027. Premium‑equipped models with the optional Bowers & Wilkins sound system also support Apple Music Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos.

The integration reflects Volvo’s broader strategy to turn its cars into comprehensive digital platforms, expanding its ecosystem beyond Android Automotive and reinforcing its push toward electrification and connected‑car experiences.
