Volvo and BYD launch new electric SUVs in Brazil

The Brazilian electric vehicle market is seeing new high-performance SUV entries from Volvo and BYD.

Volvo has introduced the EX30 Twin Motor Performance, priced at R$ 309,950. This all-wheel-drive model features a combined 428 cv and 543 Nm of torque, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds. According to Inmetro, the vehicle has an approved range of 316 km.

BYD has launched the Sealion 7 in Brazil for R$ 339,990. Positioned as the manufacturer's most powerful electric SUV in the country, it delivers 531 cv and reaches 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds. The model utilizes an 82.5 kWh Blade battery with an Inmetro-homologated range of 360 km. This launch coincides with rapid growth in the electrified vehicle sector in regions like Rio Grande do Norte, where sales of light electrified vehicles rose by over 242% in the first half of 2026 compared to the previous year.
