Volvo Cars EV sales jump 21% as overall deliveries fall 4%

Volvo Cars reported deliveries of 164,663 vehicles for the May‑July 2026 quarter, a 4% decline from the same period a year earlier. Electric‑powered models rose 15% to 87,464 units, and fully electric cars increased 21% to 44,243, taking the share of EVs to 53% of total sales, with pure‑electric models accounting for 27%.

The United States market showed a double‑digit rebound, while European deliveries remained broadly stable. Demand in China weakened, pressuring overall volumes. Chief Commercial Officer Erik Severinson highlighted the positive US recovery and steady European performance, noting strong sales of the EX30 and EX40 and growing retail orders despite the EX60 not yet contributing to deliveries. Volvo plans to gradually increase production and deliveries in the second half of the year.
