Volvo details EX60 specifications and announces EX50 model
Volvo has revealed technical specifications for its upcoming EX60 electric SUV, which is seeing high demand with over 50,000 orders in Europe. Despite this interest, the company is facing production delays due to new industrial technologies and complex manufacturing processes, having produced only approximately 5,000 units since April.
The EX60 lineup will feature three powertrain options. The P6 Single Motor RWD offers 374 hp and a range of up to 611 km (WLTP). The P10 Twin Motor AWD provides 510 hp with a range of up to 660 km (WLTP). The high-performance P12 Twin Motor AWD variant delivers 680 hp and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds.
Additionally, Volvo announced the upcoming EX50, an electric SUV positioned between the EX40 and EX60. Designed to compete with the Tesla Model Y, the EX50 aims to target a more affordable segment of the European market. Production for the EX50 is expected to take place at Volvo’s new electric vehicle plant near Košice, Slovakia, which has a capacity of up to 250,000 vehicles per year.
