Volvo Cars Korea accelerates premium EV market expansion

Volvo Cars Korea is strengthening its position in the premium electric vehicle (EV) market, driven by the success of the EX30 and the launch of new flagship models, the EX90 and ES90. In September, the company reported 1,414 total vehicle sales, an 84% increase from the previous month. Pure electric vehicles accounted for 61.3% of these sales, totaling 867 units.

The EX30 and EX30 Cross Country have been primary drivers of volume, with the EX30 maintaining its position as a leading premium compact EV. Volvo is now beginning deliveries of its next-generation flagship models, the EX90 large SUV and the ES90 electric sedan, both built on the SPA2 platform and featuring the HuginCore intelligent platform.

To remain competitive, Volvo has implemented an aggressive pricing strategy in South Korea, with the EX90 and ES90 priced significantly lower than in several European markets. The EX90 Twin Motor Plus is priced at 106.2 million won, while the ES90 ranges from 72.94 million to 95.41 million won.
