Volvo ES90 electric sedan achieves 520km range certification in South Korea

Volvo Car Korea has announced that its next-generation pure electric flagship sedan, the ES90, has completed domestic certification in South Korea. The ES90 Twin Motor, equipped with a 106kWh battery and all-wheel-drive system, achieved a certified combined driving range of 520km in room temperature conditions, which includes 548km in urban environments and 486km on highways. In low-temperature conditions, the certified range is 469km.

The vehicle features Volvo’s first 800V high-voltage system, enabling a 300km range increase with just 10 minutes of charging via a 350kW rapid charger. It also utilizes the HuginCore intelligent platform, developed in collaboration with Nvidia and Qualcomm, to manage safety and infotainment functions.

To compete in the premium electric vehicle market, Volvo has priced the ES90 significantly lower in South Korea—by more than 50 million won compared to European markets. With environmental tax benefits, prices start from 70.81 million won. The model has already secured over 3,000 pre-orders, and official customer deliveries are set to begin in October.
