Volvo ES90 electric flagship combines sedan comfort with SUV utility

Volvo has introduced the ES90, a new pure electric flagship designed to blend the characteristics of a luxury sedan with the utility of an SUV. The vehicle features a liftback design and a higher ride height than traditional sedans, offering improved visibility and cargo flexibility.

The ES90 Twin Motor AWD Ultra variant is equipped with a 106kWh battery and dual motors, producing 456 horsepower and 68.4 kg·m of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds and offers a combined driving range of approximately 520 km.

Test drives highlight the vehicle's emphasis on quietness and ride stability. Utilizing dual-chamber air suspension and aluminum components to reduce vibrations, the ES90 provides a smooth experience even on irregular road surfaces. While the 3,102mm wheelbase offers significant legroom in the second row, the sloping roofline may result in more limited headroom compared to traditional sedans.
