Volvo launches ES90 electric flagship sedan in South Korea

Volvo Cars Korea unveiled its new pure‑electric flagship sedan, the ES90, at a media event on 22 April in the Grand Hyatt hotel in Seoul. The model is priced from 72.94 million won, roughly 5 billion won lower than in other major markets, and the company targets sales of more than 1,000 units in its first year and over 3,000 units in 2025.

The ES90 features an 800 V high‑voltage architecture that enables 350 kW DC fast‑charging, reaching 80 % state‑of‑charge in about 22 minutes, and a WLTP‑rated range of up to 706 km on a single charge. It is built on Volvo’s SPA2 platform with a 5‑meter wheelbase, offering sedan elegance, fastback styling and SUV‑level interior space, including a 1,445 L cargo volume. Premium trims include a 1,610 W Bowers & Wilkins audio system and extensive driver‑assistance sensors. Volvo aims to sell more than 10,000 EVs in South Korea annually and become the market leader in the premium electric segment.
